The Board of Trustees has approved a ten-week extension of supplemental unemployment benefits for weeks of unemployment on and after January 1, 2018, through the end of the current benefit year, March 31, 2018.
To be eligible for this extension, you must continue to satisfy SUB eligibility requirements for each benefit week, have exhausted 26 weeks of supplemental unemployment benefits in the current benefit year, and submit an application and supporting documents to the SUB Department. Additionally, you must complete an Extension Eligibility Form and submit this form each time you submit your application and supporting documents.
For each week you claim extended benefits, you must be immediately ready and able to work. You will NOT be considered immediately ready and able to work any week in which one or more of the following applies:
- You are out of work due to a positive drug test result
- You are medically ineligible to work
- You have applied for pension benefits
- You have refused an offer of work
- You are “red tagged”
If you have any questions regarding this extension, please call the SUB Department at Extensions 6830, 6843, 6760, and 6761.
